Murad Clarifying Cleanser

RATING (out of 5 stars): 3 stars

COST: $26 for 6.75 ounces

THE SKINNY: Murad Clarifying Cleanser gets great reviews from adult acne sufferers everywhere. The 1.5 percent salicylic acid cleanser does work well. (I used it in place of my regular cleanser after a week of treating my body and skin inappropriately.)

It did the trick. The cleanser lathered nice and had a great tingle, which made my face feel super clean. And the next day I could see noticeable improvement; blemishes seemed to vanish.

But there are some concerns for me. This cleanser is VERY drying. There is no way I could use more than occasionally for the tough times. I can't seem to hydrate enough to counteract the drying. And it smells ... terrible. The cleanser has a medicinal scent that almost made me gag.

KEEP OR TOSS: This cleanser is for the hard-core. If you have regular breakouts and oily skin. This product is likely for you. Otherwise, it is just too tough for most people.

CHECK IT OUT: Check out reviews from happy users (seemingly everyone on the site just loves the product) on Murad's website, where you can also place an order.
