Pida Exfoliating Gel (Review and Giveaway)

RATING (out of 5 stars): 3.5 stars

COST: $40

THE SKINNY: Exfoliation is good for skin; you can't really argue that fact.

Pida Exfoliating Gel makes it a little easier to exfoliate with a product that is simple to use and is not rough or smell harsh (issues that sometimes arise with exfoliators).

The Pida gel is a scent-free, clear liquid that you rub on skin. It's not rough and is just a little thicker than water. As you rub it in, you can actually see skin sloughing off. (Which admittedly is both a little gross and awesome at the same time.)

I used the sample on my face and it felt fantastically smooth. And because of the texture of the gel, my face was not red or irritated after use. (A problem I can often have with harsher exfoliators because of my somewhat sensitive skin.) The formula contains aloe vera, antioxidants and Vitamin C, which are all great for skin.

Pida is advertised to help with rough patches, acne and dull skin.

The only thing that really scares me about this product is the price tag. If it were a little less pricey, I would seriously consider adding it to my skin care routine.

THE SKINNY: They have a celebrity spokesperson (Heidi Klum) and a massive marketing campaign, so I know you have seen this stuff around. There are also samples available all over the place for you to grab, plus we are going to give away some here too!

For a grocery store product, this seems to be pretty good stuff.

My hair was very manageable and looked good while I was using it.

But ... I was not a big fan of the scent. Honestly it smelled like cheap shampoo -- a hint of something sweet and a lot of chemical smell. (The scent does not hang around though so you don't have to worry about smelling it during the day.)

Overall, this seems like a great effort for a new product line. I just hope in the new version, the smell is a little nicer.

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm

RATING (out of 5 stars): 4 stars

THE SKINNY: I have always been a fan of Neutrogena products and have used them since I was a pre-teen off and on. 

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm is one of my new favorites. It has the super-moisturizing feel of your favorite balm plus a nice touch of color. I have been using "Petal Glow" and the tint is perfect -- a light color with a hint of shimmer. It is the perfect balm for to use in between your favorite gloss or lipstick.

As an added bonus, this balm is supposed to help support the overall look of your lips and help them look rosier. I can't really attest to this; maybe the change is just to gradual.

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm comes in six shades and contains SPF 20. (You can never have enough sun protection.)
