Physicians Formula Happy Booster

THE SKINNY: You can't help but giggle when you're using Physicians Formula Happy Booster blush/bronzer, because the concept is just plain ridiculous.

The blush/bronzer is delivered in little heart-shaped pellets, and you're supposed to apply it with either a bright pink poof or a bright pink baby brush. (I used my regular brush.)

Additionally, it has a plant extract that's supposed to promote happy feelings and the scent of violets.

Did I feel happy after using it? No. Silly, yes. Happy, no.

But it's an OK blush of the quality you would expect to find in a drugstore, so I don't feel like I wasted my money. The color is warm and rosy and lasts most of the day.

KEEP OR TOSS: Honestly, it's a toss for me. I just can't with the little hearts.

Buxom Glow and Tell kit

COST: 500 Sephora points

THE SKINNY: Sephora recently offered this Buxom kit (Hot Escapes Bronzer in Tahiti, Divine Goddess Luminizer in Venus, Lip Polish in Tonya and Lash Mascara in Blackest Black) as a 500-point reward. I've had such good luck with Buxom products that I had to jump.

The kit is all sample-sizes but a lot of fun. My favorites are the Lip Polish and the Lash Mascara.

Buxom's lip glosses are rich, creamy and usually well-pigmented. This color, Tonya, isn't one I would have ever picked up myself. It's a sparkly bright pink that goes on surprisingly sheer and is perfect for summer. I use it nearly every day.

The mascara, in Blackest Black, is a great everyday mascara that lengthens and offers clean lash definition. It isn't clumpy or too much for work. I use it nearly every day, too.

The bronzer is a decent, run-of-the-mill product. And the luminizer is a little sparkly for me, but also decent.

KEEP OR TOSS: Keep. This is a fun group of products.

Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder

COST: $28 for 0.28 ounces

THE SKINNY: Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder give you a hint of that sun-kissed look without ever actually having to go out in the sun.

I was a little worried about this product at first. It does not come in different shades and the color on the card look much too dark for my somewhat pale skin.

But it glided on like a charm. The color was super subtle, yet highlighting and natural. I was very pleased with the overall look.

Sadly, this is one of the more expensive bronzers I have tried. As seldom as I use one, I am just not sure $28 is a good value and once I get a touch of a natural tan, I am not sure you would even see results.

KEEP OR TOSS: Keep. I really liked this product and hope I get a hold of a few more samples.
