butter London in The Black Knight

RATING (out of 5 stars): 2 stars

COST: $15

THE SKINNY: Premium nail polish shouldn't chip easily. My one splurge on Butter London nail polish taught came down to that.

I was actually looking for a Zoya polish (which we love, love, love) when I settled for a butter London variation. And I do love the color. The Black Night is a black polish mixed with colored glitter that's about the consistency of sand. It's gorgeous when it catches the light.

But this polish wears off like no other in my cabinet.

The first time I tried it, I put on a base coat followed by two coats of The Black Knight. I skipped the top coat. My toes started chipping in two days. I added another coat of The Black Night, but within a day, my toes look awful. All 10 were chipped.

So I started from scratch and added a top coat. Sadly, the shadow only made it three days without chipping. What a disappointment.

This polish has a lot of glitter in it and takes some scrubbing, even with Zoya's awesome Remove Plush Nail Polish Remover.

KEEP OR TOSS: I'm torn on this one. I want to toss it, but I have a hard time throwing away $15 polish.

CHECK IT OUT: butter London offers dozens of polishes. I found this one, which is on hiatus on the butter website, at Ulta.
