Wei Black Soy Instant Lifting Face Treatment Pad

RATING (out of 5 stars): 3.5 stars

COST: $68 for six

THE SKINNY: This is a single-use face mask for firming and tightening the skin. It's just kind of weird.

The mask is a liquid-soaked piece of gauze cut into the shape of a face. It's messy, and it's hard to open the mask without feeling like you are going to rip the thing to shred.

Once on, it's very wet. You leave the mask stuck to your face for 10 minutes. Mine dripped a bit.

Then peel off the mask, wipe away excess liquid with damp cloth and follow with moisturizer.

It felt kind of icky the first few minutes and very cold -- not something I would do on a cold winter's night. But as the liquid soaked in, my skin felt cool and refreshing, like putting cucumber slices over my eyes.

Afterward, my face felt tight and renewed, then a little hot for a few minutes.

The next day, it my skin looked good and felt renewed.

KEEP OR TOSS: I only had one mask, which is used. As much as I dislike trying to scrub all the clay or mud mask off my face, I'm not sure I'd pay $68 for six.

CHECK IT OUT: This product isn't widely available and came to me through Birchbox. Wei offers a similar product -- $38.50 for 60 pads -- on its website.
