COST: $39 for 1 ounce
THE SKINNY: Using this product for the first time was a true experiment. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream has the color of a liquid foundation but goes on like a lotion. I first tried medium only to realize that I am not medium at all. I looked like a freakishly tanned mannequin after application. So I washed it off.
Take 2 was mixing the BB Cream with my moisturizer to tone down the color. That worked great. I got the look and feel of a tinted moisturizer with the benefit of SPF 35. It felt great on my skin and hid imperfections. (I also use quite a bit less of the BB Cream after re-reading the package.)
Take 3: I tried the product in light (somehow I had two samples in two different shades, thank goodness!). It worked as advertised. Very nice coverage that you can use alone (this would be great for summer) or under foundation (great for photos -- I will be using this at my sister's wedding for sure).
The key to this product is to use a very small amount. Resist the urge to slather it on. You will look like a super-tanned zombie if you use more than a dab. Proper application results in a great, natural look.
Plus the BB Cream has the added benefit of SPF 35 (a girl's best friend) and Smashbox claims the product will help improve your skin over time with anti-aging peptides that help smooth out those little lines.
KEEP OR TOSS: BB creams are all the rage right now. This is one to try. I plan to keep some handy for those days when I really need to look my best.
