Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Style Finishing Paste

RATING (out of 5 stars): 4 stars

COST: $4.29

THE SKINNY: I'm a sucker for hair products, especially those designed to add texture or definition to hair. Problem is, my fine hair usually can't handle texturing products for very long without looking dirty or greasy or just weighed down.

Garnier's new Pure Clean Finishing Paste is better than most -- surprising because the company's other products, such as the Fiber Gum Putty, are awful on my hair.

The Pure Clean Finishing Paste promises clean definition without stickiness and does a decent job delivering on that promise. The white paste isn't heavy or sticky or glossy or goopy. I just use a little bit on my fingertips -- a lot less than you think you need -- and work it into my layers.

It does add definition and a little bit of volume immediately.

A few hours later, my hair is a little flatter than it started, but a little tousling adds a little volume back in. The best thing is my hair doesn't look dirty after a day at work or running around.

This product does best if you just need it for a few hours, especially if you have fine hair like me. It won't make your hair crunchy or sticky either.

KEEP OR TOSS: Keep. And because this paste is less than $5, it won't break the bank to give it a try.

CHECK IT OUT: This line also is available in a smoothing cream and a styling gel. Check out the Garnier website for details.
